I owe much of my facilitating experience to Chattanooga nonprofit, Mark Making and founder Frances McDonald, who mentored me and allowed me space to grow as an educator. While employed there, we facilitated classes in numerous settings, namely in weekly classes at the Hamilton County Jail, with clients of the Sexual Trauma Track in Hamilton County’s Mental Health Court, and the ongoing Stoveworks Mural Project led by four local teens to raise awareness around issues that teens face every day. You can check out the awesome work they’re doing at www.markmaking.org.
In the past few years, I’ve also had the unique privilege of facilitating arts classes in the Hamilton County Juvenile Detention Center with artist Olga de Klein, Little Miss Mags Preschool, at the Salvation Army with the Hart Gallery, and at the AIM Center with artist Judy Mogul. The work below is the result of participants in sessions I either facilitated or cofacilitated.
