Confined Creations / Isolated Incidents

To support local artists affected by loss of work during COVID-19, this project offered Justin Butts, Alecia Buckles, and Sara-Anne Waggoner isolated residencies in Barking Legs Theater in Chattanooga, TN. The artists created installations in the bathrooms considering the affects of confinement on their arts practice and reflecting on the impact of social distancing and isolation on their creative process, livelihood, and community at large. A few weeks before the onset of the pandemic, I began working at Barking Legs Theater as the Visual Arts Coordinator, so this was the first coordinatin’ I was able to do in this position in such an uncertain, unpredictable time. What a time to start a new job!

These are their confined creations below. I did not create these works, but curated and facilitated the project.
